About This Data

The Bestseller Patterns tool is built on a curated dataset of bestselling books pulled from the New York Times Bestseller Lists, enriched with metadata from Google Books and proprietary AI analysis.

Every title earned a spot on the NYT list — this isn’t scraped or estimated data. It’s verified bestseller information from authoritative sources.

Each book goes through a multi-layer enrichment process that maps story-craft patterns — from narrative structure to character dynamics to market signals. This lets you ask natural-language questions and get data-backed answers about what’s actually working in bestselling fiction and nonfiction.

The dataset is updated periodically as new bestsellers are added.

Want to go deeper? Bestseller Patterns Pro analyzes thousands of books with interactive dashboards, comp title matching, success pattern analysis, and much more. Go deeper. Go pro (currently in waiting list phase).
